Winter Mimi

I'm back with my first card made today. Chris has just phoned and is on his way home so should be back about 2 o'clock hopefully.

Sorry about the poor photo but no matter what I tried I couldn't get a decent picture without shadows and her tights are in fact white not this grubby grey colour.

Christmas Card

Hello All.

Well this makes a nice change doesn't it. The weekend is here and the sun is out woo hoo!!  Having a nice lazy day today.  Been out in the garden this morning tidying up again.  Everything has gone mad with all the rain we've had.

Last year I made at least one Christmas card a week but this year I've let it slip so thought whilst I had a bit of time I'd make a quick and simple one.

Another Baby Card

Well I'm back, sooner than I thought.  I was just putting my coat on to go to the shops and the heavens opened.  It's still raining now so I thought I'd make another card and go out later.  Just spoke to mum on the phone and she's invited me around to theirs for tea, yippee, no cooking for me.

Right I give up.  I've just been trying for the past half hour to upload a pic of my new card and just keep getting an error message.  I had no trouble this morning with my other card!!!  I'll give up for now and hopefully upload it later.

Woo hoo, finally.  It's only taken 2 and half hours to upload this pic.  Has anybody else had any trouble today or is it just a glitch with me?

I have used this cutie pie digi image from Pink Gem Designs - Bathtime Baby
Coloured with Promarkers
Backing Papers - Stamping Up and Nitwits 'Pinky Swears Too'

Gingerbread Card

Well got home from Snowdon about an hour ago.  Me and Em got there about 3.15am and sat in the hotel waiting for the teams to get down.  Chris and his team finally arrived at 6 am which gave them a total time of 26 hours and 1 minute.  He was a bit disappointed because he knew they could have done it in 24 hours if they had had a bit of luck with the road travel.  They lost about an hour and half travelling from Scotland because the traffic was so bad around Glasgow and then on Snowdon one of the team was feeling poorly so they had to slow down for him.  I'm really proud of him though, they came 15th out of 36 teams and only 8 of them managed less than 24 hours.  Chris's team alone have made about £3000 for Action Medical Research, a children's charity.

Anyway back to the card I made yesterday.  The ladies over at Bah Humbug have set a fab challenge this week which is 'Surprise'.  I really enjoyed making this one as it was a new technique for me.  I made a wiper card, the instructions can be found here.

 Card Closed

Card Opened and wiper pops up.

Closer look at the pop up wiper.

I have used 2 Kraft card blanks which I had in my stash drawers.  The backing papers are from the Cricut Celebrations paper pad matted onto cream and dark brown card.  The really cute gingerbread man is a digi stamp from Pink Gem Designs and I have paper pieced the hat, scarf and icing and the robin is from the Penny Black Jolly Friends set.   The snowflakes are furry stick ons from Paper Cellarand the ribbon is from my stash.  The sentiment is a SeeD.

The challenges I am entering are:
Bah Humbug - Surprise
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Doodlebug ( I doodled the snowflakes, the white stitching and the zig zags on the icing)
Winter Wonderland - Food for Christmas
Southern Girls Challenge - Start of Winter Christmas
Paper Creations Ink - Ribbon or Lace
ABC Christmas Challenge - K is for kids/Kraft

Ice Skating Mimi

Blimey my card today seems to have taken all day to make.  Not because it was particularly hard but because of the light.  One minute it was too dark and I had to turn the lights on then the next the sun was shining and blinding me.  It's another Christmas card I'm afraid, and another for quite a few challenges.  The first challenge is A Gem of a Challenge which this week is a lovely sketch.
I have used the gorgeous stamp 'Ice Skating Mmi' and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers and sentiment are from Zoe Pearn again.  Sizzix snowflakes and gems, glamour dust and B&M snow.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Sparkle and Shine
Lili of the Valley Challenge - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - Winter Sport
