Penny Black Christmas

We were going to go to Mum and Dad's caravan today but with all the rain, gales, thunder, hailstones and upside down rainbows we decided to stay put and have a lazy day instead.

My card today is my weekly Christmas card and as usual I am entering it into a few challenges.

Christmas Card #14

Good morning everyone, had an early start this morning so thought I would get cracking on this week's Christmas Card.  We were up at 5.30 as Chris is doing a 20k run today 'Offa's 'Orror' down in  Tintern near Chepstow.  It's a multi terrain race so running on footpaths and forest trails and up and down hills.  I think he's mad but he loves it.  Anyway it leaves me in peace to craft.  Not going down to watch, it's about 3 hours away but my sister and brother in law live down there and are going to cheer him on and let him use their shower afterwards!!

Anyway onto my card.  I tend to shy away from black and white challenges 'cos I am rubbish at colouring in with greys and blacks but the DT on Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge have used colour on their images so thought it would be okay if I did too!!

I am also entering it into the following challenges:
Bah Humbug - Stockings
ABC Christmas Challenge - Hotspot or Spotlight Technique

I really enjoyed making this card, it took me out of my comfort zone but I think that's a good thing sometimes, isn't it.  I haven't tried this spotlight technique before but think it is very effective and will definitely try it again.  I've used this lovely Mo Manning image 'Pammy's Stocking' and coloured the spotlight bit with Promarkers and added a bit of glamour dust to the top of the stocking.  The backing papers are from Summer Driggs 'Year to Shine' kit and the stripey paper is Charcoal Prints from Dovecraft.  The large snowflake is a Cuttlebug die and the little one a Sizzix die cut.  The ribbon and gems are from my stash and the sentiment is from The Clear Art Stamps Impressions kit.

Christmas Card #6

Good evening, sorry about the quality of this pic but I haven't been home early enough to get a photo in natural light so I think this is the best it is going to be.

My card today is for the weekly Bah Humbug Challenge which this week is to use a doily. When I saw this panic set in as I have never used a doily. Went down to local Wilkies and found a pack of 20 in various sizes. I have used the smallest in the pack for this card.  Heaven knows what I am going to do with the rest!!

I have followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers.

Stamp - Art Impressions Christmas Mailbox coloured with Promarkers.
Papers -  Zoe Pearn Happy Holidays
Sentiment - Digital, sorry can't remember where from.
Martha Stewart Punch - Arch Lattice

Jolly Glow

Not been around much this week so sorry I haven't been commenting as much as usual. Been busy at home, hubby has been in Sweden all week so I have been the resident 'taxi driver' for the kids. He got home last night and has just gone to do the weekly shop so I found a little bit of time to make this week's Christmas Card.

I am entering this card into the following Challenges:
Bah Humbug - Christmas Cuties
Die Cut Dreams - Recipe (3 papers, 2 embellies, 1 image)
Friday Sketchers - The Sketch
All Things Sugar Nellie (Paper Craft Planet) - Warm Christmas Colours (Red and Green)
I have used this cute Sugar Nellie stamp ' Wrapped Up Boy' coloured with Promarkers. I have used the Christmas papers from Lidl and the sentiment is from Impressions Clear Art Stamps.

Santa Card

Good Morning.  Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  We have had a busy week with it being Emily's 18th and we had to go to take a look around Birmingham Uni at the weekend so didn't really have much time for making cards.

I am back now with my second GDT card for I love Promarkers.  The challenge this week was a fab sketch designed by Wynneth with the added challenge of Rip it Up.  I am not a great fan of ripping, every time I have tried it in the past it has looked a mess but this time I quite like it.  I think it looks better with the glitter around the edge.

I am also entering this card into the weekly Bah Humbug Challenge.  This week it is to use your favourite medium.  My favourite medium has to be Promarkers, but I also love my glamour dust.  I think you will find it on most of my Christmas Cards this year.

Finally I am entering my card into this weeks ABC Christmas Challenge which this week is S for Santa (extra challenge No Red)

I have used my favourite Sugar Nellie Santa image coloured with Promarkers.  The backing papers are from my scrap drawer and I have cuttlebugged the pink paper.  The sentiment is for Impressions Clear Art Stamps.  Die Cut Snowflakes.  Glamour Dust.  Gems from stash.
