Clare's 21st

Sorry I havn't been around for a while but March is always a busy month at work and this one has been extra busy as we have been short staffed. The end of year audits all go in for April 1st so hopefully it should slow down a little bit now. We also have 3 new members of staff starting on Tuesday so I shouldn't be asked to cover reception duties as much as I am now.

Anyway back to the card, it is my son's girlfriend Clare's birthday on 24 April and I wanted to do a special card for her. I have got the inspiration for this card from Kerry's (Pickle) blog. Take a look she has some gorgeous cards. I saw this card a while back now and thought it was fabulous so have had a go myself. You can get the instructions from Pickles gallery on Docrafts.

I have used the Tilda stamp Party Tilda coloured with the pearly paints from The Works and pearlescent medium instead of water (to make it extra sparkly). Glamour dust on her wings and stars. Papermania simply elegant pack. Card embossed with cuttlebug swiss dots. 21 made in Word, cut out and embossed with Cuttlebug birthday folder. Flowers from Clare Curds signature range stamped and embossed with silver. Sentiment from Cuddly Buddly.

Sugar Nellie Mother's Day

This is the fabulous card my darling daughter made for me. She made it one day when she came home from school earlier than I get in from work. She had gone through my stash and I think she has made a great job. She has used the Sugar Nellie stamp Maggie with spring flowers and coloured it with Whispers and highlighted with glitter glue. The papers are from the set from Costco and the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly. For Mother's Day she bought me a lovely set of new paintbrushes as she knew my old ones were on their last legs, and my favourite flowers Freesias.

Seeing as it is a Sugar Nellie stamp and the challenge on the Sugar Bowl Blog this week is for a Mother's Day card it would be rude not to enter wouldn't it.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

I am back again with my second challenge card of the day. It is Cute Card Thursday's birthday this week and to celebrate they are giving 5 lucky people the chance to win a prize. Katharina has designed a fab sketch and they are asking that you create a card for a celebration. This is a card for Heather, a lovely lady that I work with. She is turning 65 in April and also retiring from work.

I have made a pocket to hold the tag, using the plastic from the front of a diecut kit. I have embossed it with Swiss Dots embossing folder. (I copied this idea from a card I received from Sharon T last year). The image on the tag is coloured with whispers and pearly paints. The backing paper is again from the Jumbo kit from Costco. Sentiment is Cuddly Buddly. Die cut flowers and ribbon, lace and buttons from stash.

Magnolia v Stampavie Challenge

The challenge this week is to make a Mother's Day card. So seeing as I had to do a card anyway I thought I would join in this week. I have used the Lily and Milo stamp 'Picking Flowers' coloured with Whispers and pearly paints. The backing paper is from the Jumbo pack at Costco. The gems are pearly gems that I have coloured with peel off pens along with the Mothers Day peel off.

Mum and Dad's Anniversary

I have just got back from visiting my mum and dad, whose Wedding Anniversary it is tomorrow. They have been married for 46 years. I have made this card using this cute little stamped image that I received in an image swap (sorry I can't remember who it was from) It is a LeLo stamp called 'You go first'. It has been coloured with whispers and pearly paints. The hearts are punched with a punch from Wilkies and covered in glamour dust. The ribbon and gems are from my stash and the heart pin is another one from Tara's candy.

Helen's Birthday

Today's offering is a card for Helen's 50th Birthday but she made me promise not to put the number 50 on it. Don't tell her but I had my fingers crossed and I am going to plaster the back of the card with 50's and see how long it takes her to notice lol. Anyway she loves cakes so when I saw this free download on Funky Fairy's blog I knew I had to use it for her card. If you want to grab this download you had better do it quick as it will only be available for a short time.

Award

I have received this award from Suzi B. Thanks for thinking of me Suzi.
