Bloomin' Snow

Tuesdays are my day off work and I was hoping to go and do a bit of last minute shopping today but don't think I'll bother. It has been snowing steadily now for the past 3 hours and doesn't look like it is going to end anytime soon. I think I will get my walking boots out and wrap up and just walk down to the local shops. I need to go to the post office to get my mother in laws money out for her.

This was taken from my daughter's bedroom window and I couldn't believe what I was seeing, the blooming goldfish in the pond are happily swimming around in this weather!!!

Another Christmas Card

How come when you think you have finished all your Christmas Cards, you suddenly remember another one you need. I hope this is now the last one but I have a horrible feeling it won't be.

I am going to move all my crafty things up to my bedroom today so I can get the dining room back to looking like a dining room, then hopefully will get the tree up at weekend.

Pink Gem stamp coloured with Promarkers and Glamour Dusted. Paper from Lidl Christmas pack. Snowflake die cuts and punches. Sentiment See D.

Another 2 Challenge Card

How come even when you go out for the night and don't get to bed until 2am you still wake up at your usual time of 7 am. I tried to go back to sleep but in the end had to get up as I was wide awake. I will probably collapse about 9 o'clock tonight now. Had a good evening, we went to a Las Vegas night at The Royal Armouries in Leeds for Chris's works Christmas party. There were dancing girls with lots of feathers for Chris, a choccy fountain for me yummy!! Gambling tables (just for fun with pretend money) and a live band 'The Bogus Brothers'. Left there at 1 am and got home for 2 (I was driving so Chris could have a drink!!!) didn't think that was bad, Leeds to Manchester in an hour in the pouring rain.

Anyway as I was up and awake I made this card for my friend at work. It is her birthday 28 Dec. The sketch I have used is from Friday Sketchers and it also fits in with the Just Magnolia Challenge which is to make a card for Someone Special.
Tilda coloured with Promarkers. Papers 'My Minds Eye - Bloom and Grow'. Sentiment SeeD. Ribbon from a box of Thorntons.

2 Challenge Card

2 Challenges for this card. The first is Papertake Weekly Challenge which is the fab sketch I have used. The 2nd challenge is Spoonful of Sugar which is to use non-traditional christmas colours.

The stamp is a Magnolia stamp coloured with Promarkers and whispers pens. Don't know why he looks like he has a mucky chin, it doesn't look like that in real life lol.

More Penguins

Couple more penguin cards today. Think these will probably be the last for now, but never say never lol. I don't know what's wrong with me today but I just can't seem to get warm. I am sat here with a jumper and cardigan on and my hands are still freezing

Right off to make myself a hot drink, might even have a biccie too lol. Please scroll down and see my challenge card that I have also uploaded today and thanks for any comments. Debs x

Sugar Bowl Challenge

There's a gorgeous card sketch on The Sugar Bowl Challenge this week designed by Marlene and the prize is a set of the scrumptious new Sugar and Spice stamps. There is an added option to use zig zags. If you look closely you can see that the stripey paper has been cut with a zig zag blade in my trimmer.

I think I will give this one to my mum and dad but you know me, I'll probably change my mind and give it someone else.

The stamp is the fabulous 'Santa with tree' from Sugar Nellie coloured with Promarkers and glitzed up with Glamour dust. Papers are Stampin Up and DCWV. Card cut with Doily Lace punch. Pink Petticoat Sentiment. Gems and ribbon from stash.

More Easel Cards

Here are some of the other easel cards I made at the weekend before my camera died. I really enjoy making these, they are so easy but I think look very effective

2 Challenge Card

My card today is for 2 challenges. The first is Colour Create which this week is Red, Green and White. Hope they don't mind me sneaking in a bit of silver mirri and black. The second is the Simon Says Challenge which is animal antics, you have to include some kind of animal on your card. They are also asking you to think about the animal charities at this time of year, which is a great idea. My daughter does voluntary work in one of our local dog's homes and says they are always in need of food for the dogs and cats they are looking after

Another Easel Card

I have made a few easel cards today for my hubby's workmates. Only got a picture of one of them though, cos my camera battery has just died and I can't find another one. The picture is a bit naff cos of the lighting. I have used a daylight lamp but can't manage to get the colours look true to life. If any of you have any tips for getting a good photo, please leave me a comment.

Just Magnolia Challenge

This is my second post today so please scroll down and take a look at my other card.
The Challenge at Just Magnolia this week is 'distressing'. I haven't really tried distressing before and don't know if I will again. I think I am just a bit set in my ways.

I don't think it has turned out bad but just not too sure about it. Maybe it will grow on me. i have used this lovely Tilda image coloured with Promarkers. The backing papers are from the jumbo pack at Costco and I have run my scissors along the edges to roughen them up a bit. I have used the Doily Lace punch by Martha Stewart. Stitched around the edges. The sketch is from the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I love using sketches.

Miss Anya Birthday

Had my new lounge carpet fitted today. It looks fab and so different. I have moved all the furniture around and with the settee on a different wall and the telly in the corner the room looks so much bigger. Should have done it years ago. Just got to get some furniture now (maybe a small set of drawers and nest of tables) and it will be finished. Not going to rush into it though I will live with what I have until I see the perfect bit of furniture.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges. The first is Anyone for Anya which this week is a recipe challenge. 3 papers/card, 2 buttons and 1 bow. The second challenge is Passion for Promarkers which is a lovely sketch.

I have used Miss Anya Rain, coloured with Promarkers. The backing paper is Stamping Up, I have cut around the flowers to overlap the circle embossed with Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder. Sentiment Clare Curd. Buttons and twine from stash.

Stampavie Challenge

My card today is for the Stampavie Challenge which is a lovely sketch. I don't know what the prize is because it is a secret but I am sure it will be lovely whatever it is.

I have used this pretty stamp from Stampavie called Lily taking care and coloured her with Promarkers. The backing papers are Stamping Up. Sentiment is SeeD. Swirl stamp I have had for ages and not used. Ribbon from stash.

Off out now to look for a new car. My present car is 10 years old so I am able to use the scrappage allowance of £2000 off a new one. Going to look at a Hyundai i10 and a Toyota Aygo. I only need a little car as I only go to work and back in it and a bit of local shopping. If we are going any further afield we use Chris's car. Wish me luck. Debs xx

Another 2 Challenge Card

Well it has definitely been a wet and wild one today. The wheelie bins have been blown all over the place, I have acquired two new bins in my garden, goodness knows who they belong to. I think the wind is just about settling down now but it is still chucking it down.

My card today is for two challenges again. The first challenge is the Friday Sketchers challenge. The sketch is a lovely one designed by Aud.

The second challenge is Anyone for Anyas which this week is the colours of your National Flag which in my case is Red, White and Blue.

I have used the Miss Anya from the Snow, Rain and Shine set and coloured her with Promarkers and used Glamour Dust on her fur. The papers are from Stamping Up. The tag and oval are using the Fiskars XL Squeeze punches that are a fantastic bargain at the moment in Home Bargains 99p (I got the circle as well) they are usually around £14. Snowflakes are a Cuttlebug die and punch. Ribbon and Brad from stash.

2 Challenge Card

I am entering this card into 2 Challenges. The first is the Just Magnolia Challenge which is a fabulous sketch designed by Martine. I've really enjoyed making this card even though it seems to have taken all morning. The second challenge I am entering is A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge which this week is Kitchen/Cooking

I have used this cute little stamp that I won in Ila's blog candy 'Tilda with Cowberry Muffin' coloured with Promarkers and the pearly paints from The Works. The shelf is also from Ila and I have paper pieced the kitchen towels. The backing paper is My Minds Eye. The sentiment stamp and mixing bowl is from a little set I have had for ages and never used from the Unity Stamp Company. The tape across the card is Self adhesive plasterboard tape. Flower is a cuttlebug die cut. Ribbon and button from stash. Branch punch.

Right better get going now and sort the house out, it's my last day off work today and it looks as if a bomb has hit it. Emily has gone to Alton Towers with 3 of her friends so I have been left in peace. It doesn't close until 9pm tonight (ScareFest) so they will be on the rides in the dark. Chris is picking them up so I am not expecting any of them back until at least 10.30pm.

Colour Create Challenge

This card is for the Colour Create Challenge which this week is 'All White'. You have to predominantly use the colour white and only use another colour on the image. I have printed the 'image' from Word on the computer and highlighted with Glamour Dust. I have passed a piece of tracing paper through the cuttlebug with snowflakes folder. I have matted the 'image' onto white pearlescent card and also die cut some Sizzlits snowflakes. I really struggled to get a good photo, took about 20 and this is the best.

2 Christmas Cards Today

The first card is for the little girl next door who was born back in April. This is a free digital image from Dustin Pike. I have coloured with Promarkers and used backing papers that I had left over from a couple of years ago.

I have used this cute little Manga image coloured with Promarkers. The backing paper is from Stampin Up, the snowflakes I won in a Blog Candy, gems and lace from stash.

Thanks for any comments you may leave and hope you have a great weekend. It is chucking it down here in Manchester at the minute, we haven't had much rain lately so can't really grumble but hope it doesn't last too long. I am off work now until Thursday, yeah!!!! so hope to get some more Christmas cards made and then relax. Usually I am still making them a couple of weeks before Christmas so I am well ahead this year. Off to look for a new carpet for the lounge now but will pop back later to go hopping. Best wishes Debs xx

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Well what a lovely morning it is here, the sun is shining and I have been left in peace to craft. I think I am still recovering from yesterday. We held a drop in flu clinic at work and over 700 people turned up for their flu jab. It was my job to enter all the patient details on the comp so this morning my back, shoulders and neck are aching and my fingers havn't woken up yet. Yeah and in another couple of weeks I'll have to do it all again when the swine flu vaccine is released. Joy!!

My card today is for the Sugar Bowl Challenge. It is to make a christmas card using Tiets fabulous sketch

Stamp Nellie with Crochet Hat and Scarf coloured with Promarkers. Backing paper Stamping Up. Cuttlebug/Sizzix Snowflakes. Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch. SeeD sentiment.

Nicola's 21st Birthday

This is a card I have made for the daughter of my friend. I have decoupaged the Tatty Ted, though it is not easy to see on the photo. I am finding it so difficult to get good photos, now that the nights are drawing in and the days are so dull. Even with all the lights on I still seem to get dreary photos.

The text is computer generated, the fonts are Papyrus and Scriptina. I have put Anitas gloss on the glass and bubbles. Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Folder. Ribbon and gems from stash.

Sugar Bowl Challenge

The challenge at Sugar Bowl this week is a lovely sketch with the added option of paper piecing. For this card I have used the gorgeous Sugar Nellie Stamp Pen Pals and coloured her with Promarkers. I have paper pieced her headscarf and blouse. I havn't tried this before but found it quite easy and very effective. The papers are all Stamping Up, Sentiment Clare Curd, Flowers and Gems from stash and punched leaves. Corners are a Cuttlebug die.

More Christmas Cards

I am on a roll. Not fed up of making them yet (sorry if you are sick of seeing them). I'll try and get a couple more done today once the h*******k is finished. Sorry about the poor photos but my camera has now officially died and I have had to use my scanner.
