Bah Humbug Challenge 29 - Paper Tearing

It is my final week as Guest Designer for the Bah Humbug Challenge so I would like to thank the lovely ladies over there for making me so welcome and for all the lovely comments on my cards.  I have scheduled this post so hope it has appeared.  I should be down south as this is posting as we are dropping our daughter Emily off at the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth and then calling to see my sister in Cirencester on the way back.

The challenge this week is 'Paper Tearing'.  I have made this simple card by matting and layering a piece of pale blue card onto silver mirri.  Then I have torn a piece of white card and added it to the bottom for the snow and then also torn a piece of tracing paper and layered that over the white card.  I have added glamour dust to the torn edges for the snowy effect.  The snowman is a silver peeloff stuck onto white card, painted with the pearly paints from 'The Works' with irridescent medium used instead of water to sparkle it up even more.  Sentiment is a See D greeting.  Finished off with simple snowflake peel offs and a snowflake brad.

Cute Sugar Nellie Card

Haven't made a card in a while, not really feeling up to it.  This cold is still hanging around but today I was determined to make a card.  Got all my stuff out and just sat there looking at it, nothing jumped out at me so then I had to go hunting around all the challenge blogs and some of my favourite blogs to get inspiration.  I had already decided that I wanted to use one of my Sugar Nellies so went straight to the Sugar Bowl hoping for a fab sketch and what did I get, use any of the sketches from their sketch gallery!!  I am so indecisive at the moment this took me another hour to decide which one to use but went with Sketch no 27 lol.  I then went to the Sugar Nellie group on Papercraft Planet and this week the challenge is to include Blue.
I also got a lot of inspiration from one of my favourite Bloggers Debby and so have decoupaged some of the image a la Debby.

The image is 'Post Box' from Funky Kits coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are from the free pads Spring and Summer by Minds Eye, Pretty Please and Quite Contrary and the stripey paper is Stamping Up.  The ribbon is Craft Essentials by Cardology.  The flowers are peeled off bought cards that I received on my birthday and the leaves are another idea from Debby made by using the glacial snowflake punch from Martha Stewart.  The butterfly and flower beads are from a kids bracelet bought at Internacionale.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Fairy Tales (bit of a cheeky entry to this one, she has received an invitation to one of the Fairy Tale weddings ie: Cinderella, Snow White etc)
PaperPlay Challenges - Anything Goes

Bah Humbug Challenge 28

It is my 4th week as Guest Designer for Bah Humbug and this was the trickiest so far. The Challenge this week was 'A Christmas Scene' and as soon as I saw this I thought of the Manger scene with Mary and Joseph in the stable. I have got a Penny Black stamp which fits this theme and made 2 cards but for some unknown reason I just couldn't get them to look like what I imagined. So finally after binning loads of card I totally changed my mind and used these cardboard die cuts that I won in another Christmas Challenge.

This really took me out of my comfort zone, most of my cards are made using stamped or digi images and coloured in but I do quite like it, especially the gold glittery christmas tree.  Sorry I don't know the make of the diecuts, but if I had to guess I would probably say K & Co as there was some K & Co stickers in my prize win.

Proud Mum

Not a card, but I thought I would post a couple of pics of Stewart's graduation.  We had a lovely day in Liverpool on Tuesday.
The ceremony was held in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

Bah Humbug Challenge 27

Good morning, it's my third week as Guest Designer for Bah Humbug Challenge Blog and the challenge this week is 'Stockings'.  My shoe box is full to the brim with cards now, I'll have to raid Emily's bedroom and pinch another, she won't miss it lol.

I have used this fabulous sketch on the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog and the stamp is called Christmas Bunnies - Stocking.  I have coloured using the cheap pearly paints from The Works mixed with irridescent medium so it is really sparkly and added glamour dust to the fur.  The papers were a free download but as is usual in my case I forgot to write down where from and now I can't find them again (hits forehead with heel of hand) doh!!!  they are matted onto silver mirri card.  The sentiment is SeeD.  Cuttlebug Snowflake Die with snowflake brad.  Ribbon from stash.

Nutshells Challenge Card

Afternoon everyone, haven't made a card in a while, been busy looking at Universities with my daughter to go to next year.  My feet have had it, is it just bad luck that all the ones we have been to seem to be on hills?  Luckily after going to 3 Uni's in 2 weeks we now have a break until August

My card today is for the Nutshells Challenge which this week is Summertime Fun to create a card or anything that makes you think of Summer.  You have to use one of the stamps that they stock in their Nutcrafters store, go check it out.  As well as their own Nutshells stamps they stock lots of other brands that we all know and love such as Magnolia, Greeting Farm etc.

My card is using this cute Sarah Kay stamp Picnic of Daisies and I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I have coloured with Promarkers.  The papers and diecuts are from Papermania.  I have cuttlebugged the background with the Embossing Folder Bloom Dots and added gems from Home Bargains.

Bah Humbug Guest Design Spot

Oh I am so excited to be the Guest Designer for the month of July over at Bah Humbug. Any regular readers of my blog will have noticed that I have been doing at least one Christmas card a week since the beginning of January and it is all thanks to Bah Humbug. My shoe box is now almost full, I'll have to find a bigger one. Well the lovely ladies Irene, Ann and Max have chosen me to be their guest designer for July and the first challenge is 'Less is More'.  If you haven't started your Christmas cards yet, why not pop over to Bah Humbug and get started, you'll be really glad you did when December comes around.

I have used this cute Penguin digi image from Pink Petticoat and coloured with Promarkers. I have used no backing paper, just this little mat of black card, edged with the x cut border punch and finished off with a little gingham ribbon.

I am also entering this card into the Winter Wonderland Challenge - Punch it out and ABC Christmas Challenge - N for Noel
