Bah Humbug Christmas Card

Just a quick one from me tonight. I am off on my jollies tomorrow morning. We are going up to the wilds of Scotland to hunt down 'Nessie'. No seriously we have rented a cute cottage on the banks of the River Oich in Fort Augustus which flows into Loch Ness.   I can't wait, I haven't had a break from work since The Royal Wedding weekend and I'm absolutely shattered.  We are hoping to do lots of walking.  I've told Chris I'm not climbing any mountains this time as the last 2 times we've been he's dragged us up Ben Nevis and a few others.

Anyway the lovely ladies at Humbug Hall have set a nice easy one today, to use beads so as soon as I got in from work I got cracking.

I found these cute silver embroidery beads that I had left over from sewing on Emily's bridesmaid dress (I won't be doing that again, it took blooming ages but well worth it she looked gorgeous)  and also some red and clear beads from an old felt Christmas ornaments kit.

I embossed straight onto the base card with a label Nestie to use as a frame and stuck  the Forever Friends stickers in the middle and sentiment on the edge.

Right off to have my tea and then get the car packed so we can get an early start tomorrow morning.  I hope the weather stays like this, its been lovely and sunny today but I somehow doubt it.

See you next week!

Miss Rose

Haven't we had another lovely day, been tidying up the garden again.  Those sneaky weeds get everywhere don't they.

Stewart moved out yesterday.  He is sharing a house with 5 others.  I don't feel too sad, even though I'll miss him.  I'd already got used to him going as he was away at Uni for 3 years and then when he finished there he still stayed away most weekends with the friends he had made at college and Uni.  He's only a 20 minute drive away so I'm sure we'll still see him lots.  He's only been gone one night and Chris is already changing his room all around lol.  We are going to move into his room temporarily whilst we decorate ours and then Chris is putting his exercise stuff in there and we'll just use his wardrobes for extra storage.  Emily was going to move in there as her room is quite small but hopefully she'll be going to Uni in September so there is no point really.

Anyway enough rambling, onto my card.  I have quite a few birthday cards to make this month.

Christmas Box

Sorry I haven't been blogging much this week but I've been mega busy.  Hopefully I should have a bit more time now.  So sorry again but it is another Christmas item today.

The ladies over at Humbug Hall have challenged us to use my all time favourite crafty item.....................NOT!!!!.  Blooming Acetate.  I didn't think we would get this challenge again after the kerfuffle it caused last year.  Well didn't want to make a card so I got my bag of bargains down from upstairs.

These are little bits I bought in the January sales which I thought would do for stocking fillers.  The box that these were in was a bit battered and not very Christmassy so I took it to pieces and used it as a template to make a new box.  I then used a nestie to cut an opening in the front (can't remember the proper crafty word at the mo, my brain has turned to mush) (Edit: Aperture, thank you Max) and backed it with a piece of acetate that I cut from the packaging of a new set of glittery christmas tree ornaments (again from the sales!!)

Backing Papers and Baubles - Happy Holidays Zoe Pearn

I am also entering this card into;
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Buffet - Paper, Ribbon, Snowflakes.
Bah Humbug - Acetate
Craft Hazelnuts - Pink and/or Purple
