Favourite Cards 2010

Good Afternoon and a Happy New Year to you all.  Chris and I are not doing anything special tonight just having a nice meal and watching telly.  I might even take the Christmas tree down if there's nothing on.  Stewart and Emily are both going to house parties and staying overnight so we won't see them until tomorrow.  Knowing me I'll be in bed by 10 and be woken by the fireworks at midnight and then won't be able to go back to sleep lol.

Anyway, Debby has set us the challenge of picking our 5 most favourite cards of 2010 and has offered a prize for joining in.  I found it very difficult to pin it down to 5 but here goes.

My first is this baby card.  I haven't done many baby cards but really enjoyed making this one.  Next year there are 3 babies due so you may be seeing a couple of variations of this card very soon.

This Hanglar image I received from a good friend and was hanging on to it until there was a special birthday.  This was for my mum, you can't get more special than your mum, can you.

One of my favourite Penny Blacks used on an anniversary card for my sister and her husband.

I loved the colours, papers and layout on this one.  Sugar Nellie stamp cropped as it is so big.  I 'Debbylised' this one with a bit of decoupage.

Another of my favourite Penny Black stamps.

I can't believe I haven't included any Mo Mannings as I love them too, but stuck to 5 as asked.

Well hope you all have a lovely evening whatever you are doing.  Best wishes for 2011.

Hubby's Birthday

This is my second card today so please scroll down to see the other.

It was actually Chris' birthday just before Christmas but this is the first time I have had chance to blog it.  Who thinks birthdays at Christmas and New Year should be banned.  I keep trying to make him have a June birthday instead but he is having none of it lol.

I have used the LOTV image 'Pride and Joy' again and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers were a free download from Shabby Princess 'Squares and Dots'.  I am entering it into the LOTV challenge which is to use this fab sketch by Dena.

New Year Birthday

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and got lots of lovely crafty pressies. I only got a couple, some new Promarkers from my son, he even took my colour chart with him to make sure he didn't get any duplicates. Then he decided to leave them on the bus and had to go chasing after it lol. Managed to get them though so it all worked out well in the end. Got 4 sets of Nesties off Chris, I told him which ones I wanted and he ordered the correct ones but the Online shop he ordered from sent one of them wrong. I have sent an email to try and sort it out but had no reply yet. Hopefully they will reply tomorrow when we all go back to work.

My card for today is for a lady I work with who will be 60 on New Years Eve.  I have followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers.  The image is from Mo Manning and is Bella Carrying the cake and is coloured with Promarkers.

I am also entering this card into:

Debby at A Scrapjourney has some lovely candy on offer.  She wants us all to post our 5 favourite Christmas Cards.  Just gone back through the year and found it quite difficult to choose but these are what I came up with.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a Fab New Year.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Hello, gosh it's been ages since I last made a card. I have put all my crafty stuff away for Christmas so we can use the dining room for what it was meant for lol.  Found out on Friday that a lovely lady at work has just had her full registration come through so she can now apply for jobs as a doctor.  She is already a qualified GP in her home country but had to go through a lot of training and exams to work here so she has been helping me part time with summarising new patient notes and she has been a great help, I have learnt such a lot from her.

I am entering this card into the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which this week is to use 3 papers, one ribbon and one charm.  The image is 'bubble of joy' and the papers are Stamping Up.  Ribbon, charm and gems from stash.

Freddy's Birthday

I have made this card for my brother-in-law Freddy, it's one of those dreaded male cards.  Freddy doesn't drink or have many hobbies, apart from computers and I have made loads of cards for him with those on so I thought this fabby LOTV image 'Pride and Joy' would be good for him.

I have coloured the image with my favourite Promarkers and used my favourite Cuddly Buddly Sentiments.  I am entering it into this weeks LOTV challenge.
I am also entering this card into the Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Buttons and Bows.

For You

My card today is a lot brighter than I would normally do, but the person it is for is a very jolly person who loves Pink so I think she will like it.  I am using this gorgeous Mo Manning Digi stamp 'For You' and have coloured it with Promarkers.

I have followed the sketch from the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog.  They are celebrating their birthday this week with a blog hop and lots of lovely prizes.  The papers I have used are Zoe Pearn and were free in Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.  The ribbons are from Imag-e-nation and the flowers are from Home Bargains.

I am also entering my card into these challenges:

Rudolph Card

Today's card is my weekly card for the Bah Humbug Challenge which this week is 'Reindeer'.  I have again used my Hampton Arts stamp (love this one)  'Rudolph' and stamped him up with silver ink and just rosied up his nose with a little bit of red ink.

I have embossed some white pearl card with my Swiss dots folder and matted onto silver mirri then cut out and punched snowflakes from the same card and just added a few gems from my stash.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Ice Skating Mimi

Blimey my card today seems to have taken all day to make.  Not because it was particularly hard but because of the light.  One minute it was too dark and I had to turn the lights on then the next the sun was shining and blinding me.  It's another Christmas card I'm afraid, and another for quite a few challenges.  The first challenge is A Gem of a Challenge which this week is a lovely sketch.
I have used the gorgeous stamp 'Ice Skating Mmi' and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers and sentiment are from Zoe Pearn again.  Sizzix snowflakes and gems, glamour dust and B&M snow.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Sparkle and Shine
Lili of the Valley Challenge - Anything Goes
Winter Wonderland - Winter Sport

Oh my goodness, this card seems to have taken me forever.  The challenge set by the Bah Humbug team this week is to use Fancy Folds.  Popped over to Splitcoast Stampers to see what tutorials  there were and found this one.  I do like it but don't think I'll be doing one again in a hurry.

I have used the gorgeous 'Snowy' stamp from Penny Black coloured with Promarkers.  The backing papers are a new download from Zoe Pearn available at Sweet Shoppe.   Punched snowflakes and gems.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

The image is Sugar Nellie 'Wrapped Up Girl' coloured with Promarkers.

Not a Card

The challenge over on All Things Sugar Nellie this week is anything but a card.  In the past I have made these magnetic bookmarks and my daughter keeps asking me to make one for her friend Sam who is even more of a bookaholic than she is and that is hard to believe as my daughter is on first name terms with all the Manchester and Tameside librarians and has permanently got something either on order or waiting to be collected lol.  We can't go shopping without being dragged into bookshops and whenever we are on holiday she somehow manages to find all the little old fashioned shops.

I have used this cute 'Cheddar' image coloured with Promarkers and the papers are a free download from Zoe Pearn 'My Little Sunshine'.  The flowers are punched and gems added to the centres.  I have also punched the magnet flowers out of the little magnetic picture frames you can buy in Poundworld.  These are great for stopping the bookmark from falling out of the book like most bookmarks do.
