Penguin Birthday

HI all just a quick visit to blog this card. I bought this stamp last year to make a birthday card for a lady at work who loves penguins ............. then stupidly forgot I had it. So this year even though I haven't made a card in a while I just had to use it.

Sorry I've been a stranger

Good Afternoon all. I'm really sorry that I haven't posted for ages but I am still stuggling to get my mojo back. I keep going into my craft (dining) room and looking around but nope, nothing jumps out at me. I am feeling a bit down in the dumps to be honest.

I have made a couple of cards but I must admit I only made them because I had to.  The first one is an almost copy of one I made last year.

and for the second one I wanted to try something different, so I took inspiration from Tara and made this Shabby Chic/Vintage card for a colleague at work who is turning 50 on Monday.

I've done a little bit more crocheting too.  Emily asked me to do this one.  The 11th Doctor

A Card at last

Good Afternoon all. Would you believe it I've made a card. To be honest I made it a couple of weeks ago but haven't had the time to post.  It was just a quick and easy one for a lady at work.

Here are a few more of my crochet creations too:

Hope you like.  xx

You can download the pattern here:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dalek-amigurumi

Emily is a big Dr Who fan so she has claimed this one.  I'll have to make another for Maggie (cousin).

Here's another elephant I've made too.

Long Time No See.

Good morning all. I thought I had better let you all know that I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth. We have been really busy at work with staff illness and people leaving so I have been getting home shattered and been in bed most nights for 9 o'clock.   I have made a few more crochet animals and have been doing a bit of sewing.  I have just made Stewart a Duffel bag out of oilskin.  It was a kit but now I have the pattern I can make some more out of other materials.

and her are some of my crochet animals:

WINSTON

 ERIC

I still haven't made any cards but hope to get back to it soon.

Take Care.

Happy New Year

Good Morning All. Long time, no see ha ha.   Before Christmas my mojo did a runner and I'm afraid it didn't come back.  So as I had packed all my crafty bits away to clear the dining room for Christmas I made the decision not to get it out again and to have a little break from card making for a while.  I am not giving up.  I am sure it will all come out again at some point.  So instead I have enjoyed catching up on all the books I had been meaning to read.  I've been doing a bit of sewing and I've also been watching You Tube videos and teaching myself crochet.  I could already make granny squares but have never made anything else.  So I found this fab instruction video by Sharon for this little crochet monkey.

Meet Mickey

I am quite proud of myself, never having done it before but it really was quite easy with the fab instructions.  I didn't use the correct wool as I just used up some scraps I had.  My next one will be a lot better I'm sure.

Right off to get the dreaded h*******k done, then off to blood donor session this afternoon.  I'll be back to show you my next crafty project as soon as I've decided what I'm doing.

Take Care Debs xx

Wednesday, 19 December 2012

Sorry I've not been an active blogger just lately.  My crafty mojo has done a bunk.  I can't even blame it on being really busy for Christmas as I think I have got most of it under control.  I am off work for a few days now but back in on Christmas Eve and its hubby's birthday today so I am going to do a bit of baking, he loves carrot cake so I'll do one of those and maybe some mince pies.

Anyway this is just a quick reminder to let you know that you still have plenty of time to join in with my Nutcrafters challenge - Lots of Layers and Sparkle/Bling so hope to see some of you joining in.

Red and Green Should Never Be Seen

Except at Christmas hey!!   Another quick post from me today.  I'm off over the Pennines to pick my baby up.  Yayy Emily is coming home from Uni for Christmas.  The weather man is warning of snow on the Woodhead and Snake Pass but I'll be fine, just take my time.  It'll look pretty anyway.  My mum is coming with me and we're calling to see my auntie on the way.  I'll have to drag mum away, once those two get chatting you can't shut 'em up.

I am entering this card into:
