Mo Manning Wonderful Day

This is my second card today so please scroll down to see my other.  This one is another birthday card for a work colleague.

The image was a freebie from the fab Mo Manning called 'Wonderful Day' and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are from Zoe Pearn and Birdsong from Papermania.  Ribbon is a piece of Organza from Home Bargains which I have cut up.  The sentiment came with the image and I have hand sewn around the edge.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - All Creatures Great and Small
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Stitching
Mo's Digital Challenge - Start of Something New (A New Year)
I Love Promarkers - Sketch
Paper Crafting Journey - Use a Freebie
DYSU Challenge - Scallops

Christmas Card #14

Good morning everyone, had an early start this morning so thought I would get cracking on this week's Christmas Card.  We were up at 5.30 as Chris is doing a 20k run today 'Offa's 'Orror' down in  Tintern near Chepstow.  It's a multi terrain race so running on footpaths and forest trails and up and down hills.  I think he's mad but he loves it.  Anyway it leaves me in peace to craft.  Not going down to watch, it's about 3 hours away but my sister and brother in law live down there and are going to cheer him on and let him use their shower afterwards!!

Anyway onto my card.  I tend to shy away from black and white challenges 'cos I am rubbish at colouring in with greys and blacks but the DT on Die Cut Dreams Christmas Challenge have used colour on their images so thought it would be okay if I did too!!

I am also entering it into the following challenges:
Bah Humbug - Stockings
ABC Christmas Challenge - Hotspot or Spotlight Technique

I really enjoyed making this card, it took me out of my comfort zone but I think that's a good thing sometimes, isn't it.  I haven't tried this spotlight technique before but think it is very effective and will definitely try it again.  I've used this lovely Mo Manning image 'Pammy's Stocking' and coloured the spotlight bit with Promarkers and added a bit of glamour dust to the top of the stocking.  The backing papers are from Summer Driggs 'Year to Shine' kit and the stripey paper is Charcoal Prints from Dovecraft.  The large snowflake is a Cuttlebug die and the little one a Sizzix die cut.  The ribbon and gems are from my stash and the sentiment is from The Clear Art Stamps Impressions kit.

Pink, Black and White Birthday Card

Good afternoon, another lovely morning but starting to cloud over now.  I realised yesterday that there are 3 birthdays at work soon and with the Bank Holidays and time I've got off  it means I've got to get them done by Wednesday eek!!  Here is the first one:

I have used this gorgeous Lili of the Valley stamp 'It's My Party' coloured with Promarkers and added a bit of glamour dust.  I have used papers from My Minds Eye and matted onto black card.  The sentiment I have made myself on the computer.  The swirl was cut from glitter card with a Marianne die.  The flower was made by punching 2 daisies from glitter card and then I used some cosmic shimmer on a paper rose which promptly fell to pieces, so I just used 2 layers from the rose and added the pink pearl gem in the middle.  The organza across the middle of the card was in a pack from Home Bargains.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Colour Create Challenge - Pink, Black and White
Passion for Promarkers - Make your own embellishments

Right I am going to get ready to go to Mum and Dad's this afternoon.  Think of me please we are going to watch the match on the telly and mum, dad and Emily are true blues and Chris and Stewart are die hard reds.  I am piggy in the middle and just hope it is a good match!!  Secretly I'd love City to win, think United win too much and Chris is getting too cocky lol!!

Christmas Card #13

Isn't it a lovely sunny day.  Mum is finally home from hospital, hurrah!!.  She came home late Friday, still feeling a bit down but it is amazing what a night in your own bed can do.  Went round to see her yesterday and apart from being a bit tired she looked great.  Not been today yet as my sister is up from Cheltenham so I'll go around a bit later on.
I have made 2 cards today.  The first is my weekly Christmas Card.  I am entering it into a few Christmas challenges.  The first is Bah Humbug which this week is Candy Canes.  The second is DieCut Dreams Christmas Challenge which is to use 2 images, one of which has to be a Tilda and the third challenge is Winter Wonderland which has a photo for inspiration.

I have used this cute Tilda with Candy Cane and coloured with Promarkers.  The window image was a gifted image so sorry I don't know where from.

My second card today is for a couple of Sugar Nellie Challenges.  The first is a sketch by Maria Therese on The Sugar Bowl Challenge and you have to use the colours Green and Purple and the second challenge is the Sugar Nellie Facebook Challenge White on White.

I have used one of my favourite Sugar Nellies 'Post Box' and coloured it with Promarkers.

Dawn's Birthday

Another quick card today.  With all the toing and froing to the hospital I forgot all about my sister's birthday, well I didn't forget I just didn't realise it was so soon lol.  It's her birthday on Tuesday so I'll have to get this card in the post tomorrow.

I have used this cute house mouse stamp and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are from a Cricut pad.  Sentiment is Paula Pascual.  Gems, flower, button and ribbon from stash.  Faux stitching with white gel pen.

I have followed the sketch on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog and am also entering it into the new Addicted to Stamps Challenge which for their first week is a nice and easy one Happy Birthday

Christmas Card #12 - Miss December 2011

I am making amends for last week's very late entry into the Bah Humbug Challenge.  I have got a bit of time to myself this morning as Chris is up a mountain somewhere, Emily hasn't surfaced yet and Stewart is away at his weekend home (well it might as well be he is always there lol).  I am not going visiting until this evening so thought I'd get cracking on a card, the h*******k can bloomin' wait.

This week's challenge  is to make a card that makes you giggle.  As soon as I saw this challenge I knew I was going to use this image from Just Inklined Maude's Merry Christmas.  I am going to send it to a work colleague of Chris' who I think will love it.

I followed the sketch on Sketch Saturday and am also entering it into the
One Stop Craft Challenge - Spots and Dots
Sparkles Forum Christmas Challenge - Ribbon and gems
I Love Promarkers - Emboss It

Right off to get some jobs done, then catch up on some of the telly I've missed this week and have a wander around blogland.

Christmas Card #11

I am really, really sorry but this week's Christmas Card is extremely late. This is the first challenge I have missed in the Bah Humbug Challenge, sorry ladies.  I do have a good excuse though with mum still in hospital.  She had her chest drained yesterday, 900 mls of fluid and now feels tons better, she even said she was hungry for the first time in 2 weeks.  The nurses have said she may be home for the weekend.  Yippee!!

The challenge this week was Christmas Trees.

I am also entering it into the Winter Wonderland Challenge 'Baubles' but I think I've missed the deadline for that too.

Other challenges I am entering:
Cute Card Thursday - Couples (Forever Friends Bears)
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Christmas in Spring

Mother's Day

My card today is for my lovely mum on Mother's Day.  She is still in hospital, going through a bit of a rough time with the chest infection but always has a smile for us when we visit.  I am hoping she will be home for the weekend.

I have used this fab Lili of the Valley image Teddy with 'mum' balloons and coloured with Promarkers.  I have followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers Blog.

Mum loves bees and butterflies so I have added a couple of SeeD bees.  The sentiment is Paula Pascual.  The papers were a freebie in a magazine from My Minds Eye.  Punched flowers and Lace Doily border punch. Gems and corner peel off from stash.  I have also spritzed the sentiment and flowers with shimmer mist but don't think you can see it on the photo.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Mother's Day
Craft Your Days Away - For Mum
Stampin' For the Weekend - For Mum
Passion for Promarkers - Bugs
Top Tip Tuesday - Nature
I love Promarkers - Dotty
Lili of the Valley Challenge - Punch it
Colour Create - Pastels

Brenda's 70th Birthday

Another quick one today.  This card has been asked for by one of my sister's neighbours.  I made a 70th card for her last year and she wanted one for a friend of hers.
The brief was Brenda, 70, smooth white cat.

I googled white cat pics and after going cross eyed finally came up with this one.  Matted it onto silver mirri card and then onto swiss dots embossed card.    I printed the sentiment on computer and added a few little white pearls.

Mum is still in hospital, she has managed to get herself a chest infection after the op so won't be home as soon as we thought.  The consultant saw her yesterday and said it would probably be a few days.  Just been round to mum and dad's house and given it a good clean while he was at afternoon visiting, it wasn't too bad as dad hasn't been there much.  Going to have something to eat and then off to evening visit.  I think my car knows it's own way there now!

Christmas Card #10

A really quick one tonight. Just got back from hospital. Mum has been moved back onto the main ward now and has had most of the wires and tubes removed.  She has been out of bed and had a little walk up the corridor but was really tired so we only stayed 45 mins and came home.

My card tonight is the quickest I've ever made I think.  It's for the Bah Humbug Challenge which this week is metallics.
I simply cut a mirri card mat with my lacey squares  die and stamped onto the white card with the dove and peace stamp from Recollections 'Celebrate the season' set and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then added the metal snowflake and a few clear gems.
