Christmas Card #11

I am really, really sorry but this week's Christmas Card is extremely late. This is the first challenge I have missed in the Bah Humbug Challenge, sorry ladies.  I do have a good excuse though with mum still in hospital.  She had her chest drained yesterday, 900 mls of fluid and now feels tons better, she even said she was hungry for the first time in 2 weeks.  The nurses have said she may be home for the weekend.  Yippee!!

The challenge this week was Christmas Trees.

I am also entering it into the Winter Wonderland Challenge 'Baubles' but I think I've missed the deadline for that too.

Other challenges I am entering:
Cute Card Thursday - Couples (Forever Friends Bears)
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Christmas in Spring

Mother's Day

My card today is for my lovely mum on Mother's Day.  She is still in hospital, going through a bit of a rough time with the chest infection but always has a smile for us when we visit.  I am hoping she will be home for the weekend.

I have used this fab Lili of the Valley image Teddy with 'mum' balloons and coloured with Promarkers.  I have followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers Blog.

Mum loves bees and butterflies so I have added a couple of SeeD bees.  The sentiment is Paula Pascual.  The papers were a freebie in a magazine from My Minds Eye.  Punched flowers and Lace Doily border punch. Gems and corner peel off from stash.  I have also spritzed the sentiment and flowers with shimmer mist but don't think you can see it on the photo.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Mother's Day
Craft Your Days Away - For Mum
Stampin' For the Weekend - For Mum
Passion for Promarkers - Bugs
Top Tip Tuesday - Nature
I love Promarkers - Dotty
Lili of the Valley Challenge - Punch it
Colour Create - Pastels

Brenda's 70th Birthday

Another quick one today.  This card has been asked for by one of my sister's neighbours.  I made a 70th card for her last year and she wanted one for a friend of hers.
The brief was Brenda, 70, smooth white cat.

I googled white cat pics and after going cross eyed finally came up with this one.  Matted it onto silver mirri card and then onto swiss dots embossed card.    I printed the sentiment on computer and added a few little white pearls.

Mum is still in hospital, she has managed to get herself a chest infection after the op so won't be home as soon as we thought.  The consultant saw her yesterday and said it would probably be a few days.  Just been round to mum and dad's house and given it a good clean while he was at afternoon visiting, it wasn't too bad as dad hasn't been there much.  Going to have something to eat and then off to evening visit.  I think my car knows it's own way there now!

Christmas Card #10

A really quick one tonight. Just got back from hospital. Mum has been moved back onto the main ward now and has had most of the wires and tubes removed.  She has been out of bed and had a little walk up the corridor but was really tired so we only stayed 45 mins and came home.

My card tonight is the quickest I've ever made I think.  It's for the Bah Humbug Challenge which this week is metallics.
I simply cut a mirri card mat with my lacey squares  die and stamped onto the white card with the dove and peace stamp from Recollections 'Celebrate the season' set and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then added the metal snowflake and a few clear gems.

Thank you for all the good wishes for my mum. She had her bypass operation yesterday morning. Just got back from seeing her and she is sat up in a chair in intensive care having a cup of tea!!

Christmas Card #9

Good afternoon, another lovely day here in Manchester.  I am sorry I haven't posted for a while but have got a stinking cold, it started on Thursday and the weekend was a total washout, I don't think I moved off my chair the whole time, I was feeling right sorry for myself.  Went in work yesterday but my head felt like it was full of marshmallows.
Anyway onto todays card, it is my weekly Christmas Card for the Bah Humbug challenge.  This week the lovely ladies at Humbug Hall have set the challenge of 'apertures'.

I have created my aperture by making a frame with my oval nesties and slotted the Cuttlebug snowflakes inside.  I have followed the sketch on A Gem of a Challenge and used this cute stamp Mimi and Snowman coloured with Promarkers and glittered with glamour dust.  The sentiment is Paula Pascual and the papers are Stamping Up.  I have used my Arch Lattice Martha Stewart punch and embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake folder.

I am also entering it into
The Jingle Belles Challenge - White, Kraft and Pale Blue
Wild Orchid Challenge - Dieing to punch it out
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Mum and Dad's Anniversary

Good Afternoon everyone.  Hasn't it been a lovely morning, but going a bit nippy now and the weather lady has promised us gales and rain for this evening.  No sign of it yet though.

It's mum and dad's wedding anniversary tomorrow (48 years) so I've been out with her today to buy their present.  We went into Stockport and got them some new placemats, coasters, cups, egg cups and a vase from Dunelm Mill.  I am going to pick up some flowers on my way home from work tomorrow and drop them off with my card.  While I was in Dunelm I had to check out the crafty section.  There were some lovely paper pads but not a single one had a price on!!  This is one of my pet hates, so left without buying anything.

My card today is being entered into a few challenges:

Meljens Design Challenge - U R such an animal
Friday Sketchers Challenge - The Sketch
Stamp Something - Digi Week
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Pink, Polka Dots
Paper Playtime - Digi Monday, Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Signs of Spring
Wild Orchid Challenges - Anything Goes
The Crafty Pad - Ribbons
Charisma Cards - 4 Legged Friends

I've used this lovely digi image from Meljens Design called 'bunny love' and coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are a freebie from My Minds Eye which came with a magazine.  The ribbon and gems are from my stash.  The flowers are Kaiser scrapbook and are flat but I have layered them up following the instructions here and painted over the edges with irridescent medium to add a little shimmer.  The sentiment is Paula Pascual.

Bella Bunting

Hasn't it been a gorgeous morning.   The guy came from the garage today to pick up my car for its annual service and we had to scrape the ice off  but now there is lovely blue skies and brilliant sunshine.  He has left his car here and will pick it up on his way home so I won't have any transport today until around 6 pm.  Well I've cleaned, done 2 loads of washing, the shirts are blowing dry on the line so I took the opportunity to get a card made for a colleague at work whose birthday is coming up on Saturday.

I've used my gorgeous new Sassy stamp 'Bella Bunting' from Sugar Nellie and coloured her with Promarkers.  I have used the sketch from The Sugar Bowl.  The papers are a fab free download from a site I have just discovered.  They are called Samantha and can be found here along with lots of other freebie kits.  I have again used my MS Doily punch and sizzix corners.  The sentiment if Clare Curd.

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Top Tip Tuesday - Favourites (Sugar Nellie are my all time favourites)
Digital Tuesday Challenge - Celebrations
Fiona's Sugar Nellie Facebook Challenge - Mint Choc Chip
Little Claires - Anything Goes

Right just off now to have a bite to eat, my belly is rumbling.  Take Care.
